All year round skiing
on the Stubaital Glacier
|
The Stubaital valley is only a 15
minutes drive from Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. The holiday resorts
ofFulpmes, Mieders, Schönberg
and Telfes are located in the
lower part of the Stubaital valley and are great destinations for a holiday
all year round. The Stubaier Glacier is very popular place to enjoy winter-sports
and fun. |

The Stubaier Glacier has 24 chairlifts
and cable cars. Three “magic carpets” ensure that the kids enjoy
themselves, too. The skiing area around the Schaufelspitze is interlinked
with the Gaißkar and Fernau-Ferner slopes thus creating an extensive
area for skiing. |

There are 53km of slopes
here making this the biggest glacier skiing area in Austria offers. Whether
you’re a carver, a snowboarder or a skier you be more than happy with the
facilities on offer. There are slopes for beginners as well as challenging
runs for expert skiers. Many special attractions such as the Wisbi-Race-trail,
the ice-climbing tower and the excellent restaurants and cosy alpine huts
add to the allure and magic of the place. |

The stunning mountain
landscape of the Stubaier Alps has everything you’d ever need for an action
and fun-packed holiday. However, the region has much to offer in summer
as well. This is a wonderful alpine landscape where you can enjoy your favourite
sports such as mountain-biking, hiking, climbing, tennis, horse riding or
swimming, as well as paragliding or summer skiing on the glacier.
